The Career Development Center helps immigrants adapt to the U.S. workforce through a variety of culturally-sensitive career services including:
Job Assessment and Counseling
Immigrant employment specialists will help asses your job skills, English language proficiency and past work experience, as well as talk with you about how they translate into the U.S. workforce. For those with limited English, referrals to English as a Second Language classes are available.
Culturally-Sensitive Job Readiness Workshops
Culturally-sensative workshops introduce and prepare immigrant clients for working in the U.S. These workshops help them understand the American culture and workforce by demonstrating workforce manners and employee interaction. Additionally, resumes and interview skills are developed for specific job openings.
Job Search Assistance
Immigrant employment specialists help clients locate job openings, appropriate to their skills, experience and interests.
