Meet Sandy Coda

CDC - Sandy Coda 1Sandy Coda knows that in addition to having a strategy, a sense of humor is an important tool for getting through challenging employment situations.

A Career and Employment Counselor at Career Development Center, Sandy puts clients as ease with her wit and knowledge in assisting those in transition find employment.

"The good days are when I have a roomful of unemployed clients in a workshop and I can get them to feel a little less stress about what is understandably a very stressful time in their lives, and to laugh. The greatest days are when I find out they've been hired," she says. "I feel fortunate that my work at the CDC enables me to truly improve lives."

Sandy's responsibilities include providing assessment, career counseling and job search skills training to CDC clients of ages, experience levels and backgrounds. She has 20 years' experience relating to career counseling, job development, sales and marketing.

Prior to joining the CDC, Sandy worked as a certified employment counselor for a company with more than 450 offices in the U.S. where she received awards for outstanding performance as an employment specialist, including the placement of more applicants than any other specialist. Sandy also worked as an Admissions Representative for the Wheeler School, where she counseled students regarding their careers, financial aid and course selection, and gave effective presentations at college fairs

Sandy has a bachelor's degree in business and communications from Carlow University, where she received a Community Service Award. She is a Certified Global Career Development Facilitator. In addition, working with Pittsburgh/Allegheny County Career Link System, Sandy has completed requirements for Core Knowledge, Job Seeker Services 1 and Employer Services 1 certified professional designations.
